8:30am - 4:00pm

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate

SEND Teaching Assistant

to support learners aged 11-19 with

Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

,

Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)

, and

sensory and medical needs

at a specialist site in

Stratford, Newham

.

You'll join a highly experienced team within a purpose-built site that features

hydrotherapy pools, rebound therapy trampolines, sensory rooms, soft play areas

, and fully equipped classrooms with

ceiling track and mobile hoists

.

This is an opportunity to work in a supportive and therapeutic setting that places the holistic development and medical wellbeing of its pupils at the centre.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver 1:1 and small group support to students with complex physical, sensory and communication needs Support learning across a multisensory, life-skills-based curriculum Assist with manual handling and personal care (including hoisting, feeding, toileting) Work alongside therapists, nurses, and healthcare assistants in a collaborative environment Help create structured, safe and enriching learning routines Monitor and record progress in line with EHCPs and care plans

Ideal Candidate



Experience with PMLD, SLD or sensory impairments Trained or willing to be trained in

manual handling, hoisting

, and

personal care

Calm, reliable, and proactive in supporting students with complex needs Familiarity with

PECS, Makaton, or intensive interaction

strategies is beneficial Emotionally resilient and confident in a medical-specialist setting
