The Governors of this successful, voluntary aided school are looking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated Teaching Assistant to be part of our support staff team at St James CE Primary School, Birch in Rusholme.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be working with the class teachers, SENDCO and other members of staff to provide curriculum support and interventions for our children.

About the Candidate
The role includes:
Experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age
Numeracy/literacy skills (at a level equivalent to NQF Level 2)
Completion of the Teaching Assistant Induction Programme, or an equivalent qualification
Ability to relate well to children and adults
Ability to work as part of a team
An understanding of the role of the Teaching Assistant and other professionals working in the classroom
Ability to use relevant technology
Understanding of national/foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies
Basic understanding of child development and learning
Willingness to undertake minor first aid training as appropriate
