We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to join our Adventurers department at Yeoman Park Academy as a Teaching Assistant. In this role, you will support pupils who experience high levels of anxiety and may display challenging behaviours.
The academy offers high quality, inclusive education for young people aged 3 - 18 who experience complex learning difficulties. The academy is committed to child centered learning and works closely with parents and carers to prepare pupils for the next stage of their lives.

The opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate and resilient individual to join our Adventurers department supporting pupils with high anxieties that can display challenging behaviours. The role involves working closely with pupils who require additional social, emotional, and behavioural support, helping them engage positively with learning and school life. You will assist in managing behaviour, promoting emotional regulation, and fostering positive relationships, while working alongside teachers and support staff to create a safe and nurturing environment where every pupil can succeed. Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to remain calm under pressure and use positive behaviour strategies effectively
You must be qualified in a relevant childcare qualification to at least NNEB, NVQ3 (or equivalent), and previous experience of working within SEN is desirable.
