We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our team so that we can further enhance our provision for pupils with SEN and those who need additional support.
The role includes one-to-one support for children with an Education, Health Care Plan, classroom support across the curriculum and specific intervention work with individuals and groups of children to support their IEPs.
We are looking for someone who:
Is patient, caring and empathetic
Shares a belief that every child can be successful and achieve their potential
Is able to work well as part of a team
Is able to use their initiative
Has a good sense of humour and has a positive outlook
Has a flexible approach
Is competent in English and Maths (GCSE grade C or above)
Ideally, applicants will:
Have experience of supporting children to manage their emotions and regulate their behaviour
Have experience of working with children with a range of Special Educational Needs in an educational setting
Have experience of delivering interventions to support literacy and numeracy skills
However, we have a very experienced SENCO and fantastic TA team who can provide excellent training for someone with less experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Work with an individual or small group of children under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo
Assist in ensuring pupils stay on task and complete learning tasks set by the teacher
Provide support to manage children's social and emotional needs in conjunction with the class teacher
Provide feedback to the children in conjunction with the class teacher
Plan and deliver interventions to support the children in making rapid progress
Have a good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
Keep accurate records
