A well-regarded East London secondary school is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant to support students with complex medical needs. This is a long-term supply role ideal for someone with a background in healthcare or medical support, looking to make a meaningful impact in education.

Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored support to students with specific health needs Administer medication and assist with stoma care as required Respond appropriately to medical situations involving central lines or mic-key buttons Work closely with the SEN and pastoral teams to ensure student safety and wellbeing Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding protocols

Requirements

Prior experience in a healthcare support role (e.g. nursing assistant, care worker, medical TA) Confidence in managing or learning procedures such as stoma care, medication administration, and emergency response Enhanced DBS required (or willingness to obtain)
