Salary: Grade 6: SCP 18 \xe2\x80\x93 23, \xc2\xa329,269 - \xc2\xa332,076 (pro rata)
Package: 37 Hours per week, Term Time Only (39 week per annum)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 x Level 4 Teaching Assistants to join a growing team within Education Inclusion who are committed to improving educational outcomes for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in Newport. The Inclusion Advisory Service sits within the central Education Service and works closely with school-based staff, children\xe2\x80\x99s services colleagues and other agencies in order to improve the education experience and learning outcomes for all ALN learners. The current team has four Teacher Advisers and one Inclusion Advisor and also works very closely with the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) team and the Educational Psychology Service as part of the wider Inclusion Enrichment Team.
Newport City Council is seeking to appoint two committed, hardworking individuals with excellent communication skills and experience of working within children / young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) to provide support and advice to all schools and education settings across Newport.
This post holders will assist the Inclusion Advisory Service in assisting schools to develop their inclusive practices to ensure all children and young people with emerging and identified ALN are supported to make good progress and achieve their full potential. The post holders will also support schools in identifying appropriate strategies, resources and interventions to meet the needs of children with ALN, using a person-centered approach through Newport\xe2\x80\x99s graduated response.
We are looking to recruit individuals who are highly motivated, can work using their own initiatives and who possesses excellent communication skills and ALN knowledge. You must also have experience of multi-agency working and extensive experience of working with children who have Additional Learning Needs. Awareness of the Additional Learning Needs and Education tribunal Act 2018 and Code is also advantageous.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
