Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to assist in the delivery of lessons, provide support to students, and help create an inclusive atmosphere for all learners, particularly those with special educational needs.

Duties

Assist teachers in planning and implementing educational activities tailored to students' needs. Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to reinforce learning concepts. Support students with special educational needs, including those on the autism spectrum, by employing effective communication strategies. Mentor and guide students in their academic and social development. Help maintain a safe and organised classroom environment conducive to learning. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual student performance. Collaborate with educators and other staff members to develop strategies for enhancing student engagement and success. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications

Experience working with children in an educational setting is essential. Familiarity with special education practices, particularly in relation to autism, is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with students and staff. Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding when working with diverse learners. Previous experience in tutoring or mentoring roles will be an advantage. A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports all learners' needs is crucial.
