Due to the popularity of our oversubscribed schools we are looking to appoint a proactive and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support our students throughout their school day. Working under the direction of the class teachers the Teaching Assistant will be providing; pastoral, academic support and delivering interventions to help create and maintain a purposeful learning environment for our students. The successful candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to build positive relationships with the children they support. Main responsibilities:

As a Teaching Assistant you will be part of a team which supports our young people throughout their school day. Providing pastoral, academic support and delivering interventions to help create and maintain a purposeful learning environment.

Main duties and responsibilities



To provide in-class support for identified individual students or small groups of students including specialist subject support as appropriate Under the direction of the class teacher, to assist in the management of the whole class through the overt modelling of effective behaviour management techniques Under the direction of a class teacher, SENCO, to develop and lead small group work for identified students supporting their ability to manage the symptoms of their SEMH, including anxiety as well as to contribute to the appropriate paperwork for these groups To assist in the production of teaching and learning materials for students, including differentiating the materials To provide after college support for identified students as required To provide regular feedback to the class teacher and to the SENDCo or the relevant line manager To provide support for students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties To use appropriate systems for recording the progress of students with learning difficulties To provide data and information to inform Annual and Transition Review paperwork, PSPs (Pastoral Support Programmes), Pen Portraits and Academic Reporting
