Job Description


Tradewind, a leading teaching agency, is seeking dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistants for day-to-day supply positions in SEN and Alternative Provision schools in Preston. Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to students with special educational needs on a day-to-day basis
  • Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and implementing individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for students
  • Engaging students in educational and social activities
  • Collaborating with the school staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in SEN or Alternative Provision schools is desirable
  • A genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively in different school environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ideally able to drive to access a variety of schools for short or long-term placements
  • Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is advantageous but not essential

  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong understanding of the individual needs associated with MLD, SLD, ASD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children\'s development.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, CACHE Level 3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
