Teaching Assistant (Grade 2)

About the Role:




As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to support pupils with a variety of needs-including physical, behavioural, medical, and emotional. You'll play a key role in ensuring all students have equal access to learning and opportunities for development.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils based on their individual education plans. Assist in classroom management and preparation of learning resources. Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being in line with school policies. Support pupils with special educational needs during lessons, break times, and off-site activities. Assist with personal care, first aid, and implementing specific medical or behavioural strategies when required. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress.

What We're Looking For:



Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience supporting children with special educational needs. A caring, patient, and flexible attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Teaching/Classroom Support, or significant experience in a similar role. A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Desirable:



Knowledge of the National Curriculum, especially in literacy and numeracy. Understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies. Previous experience in a primary school setting.
