St. Osmund's C.E. Middle School is an over-subscribed Middle School for Years 5 - 8, located in the thriving county town of Dorchester. The school is proudly part of the Wessex Multi Academy Trust and is Ofsted Good in all areas (2022).
We are seeking two energetic, enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant's to support children in the classroom with various needs to start as soon as possible. As well as supporting pupils with academic progress successful candidates will be confident in behaviour management strategies.
This role may involve general classroom support across all curriculum areas for both Key Stages.
At the moment we have a particular need with our year 7 and year 8 pupils. Duties may also include 1:1 support to several children as well as small group intervention work. The successful candidate will also support some break and lunchtime sessions in school.
Candidates must have a good standard of English and Maths.
The role is fixed term up to 31st August 2026.
This is a part time role for 29 hours per week: 8:45-15:15, Monday to Friday term time only

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.
The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.

Keeping Children Safe in Education
St. Osmund's Middle School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted.
