Hillocks Primary Academy are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our talented and supportive team. This is a fixed-term position from 23rd February 2026 until 24th July 2026.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team, delivering a structured timetable to children with autism spectrum conditions (ASC), SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) and challenging behaviours.

Essential

NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent work experience Good numerical and literacy skills to GCSE standard or equivalent An understanding of specific learning difficulties and/or physical impairments Ability to work successfully with pupils who have special educational needs, including those who have behaviour support needs An excellent caring and empathetic skill towards pupils Has a commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils and providing equality of opportunity


Desirable

Knowledge of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
