Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality education and creating a safe, engaging learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will assist with instructional tasks, classroom management, student supervision, and administrative duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the teacher in planning and delivering lessons and activities. Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts. Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources. Provide one-on-one support for students with special educational needs or learning difficulties. Supervise students in the classroom, during recess, lunch, and on field trips. Help manage classroom behavior and promote positive social interactions. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment. Perform administrative tasks such as grading, photocopying, and maintaining student records. Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and child protection protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred). Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is an asset. Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student development. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email, etc.). Any required background checks or certifications (e.g., DBS, First Aid, CPR) as per local regulations.

Working Conditions:

School-based environment with regular student interaction. May involve standing for extended periods, some lifting, and outdoor supervision. Hours may vary depending on school schedule and role specifics.

Skills

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents. Patience and empathy when working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds. Basic understanding of child development principles and educational practices.

Experience

Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred but not essential. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with students and staff. A passion for education and a desire to support student learning is crucial. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required. Familiarity with educational technologies and teaching methodologies is advantageous.
