Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support classroom activities and individualised learning programmes. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, students, and specialised support staff to foster an inclusive and nurturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of children, including those with special educational needs, and to gain valuable experience within an educational setting.

Duties

Assist teachers in delivering lessons and organising classroom activities. Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, including those with autism or disabilities. Support students with their behavioural, social, and emotional development. Help prepare educational materials and resources for lessons. Supervise students during breaks, lunch, and extracurricular activities. Foster positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and confidence. Support students in developing communication skills through personalised mentoring and tutoring. Monitor student progress and report observations to teaching staff. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment at all times.

Experience

Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is desirable. Experience supporting children with special educational needs or disabilities is advantageous. Knowledge of working with individuals on the autism spectrum is beneficial. Previous tutoring or mentoring experience will be considered a plus. Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with pupils, teachers, and parents. Familiarity with behaviour management strategies and inclusive teaching practices is preferred.
