Applications are invited for a one-year Teaching Fellowship in Politics and International Relations from 1st September 2025 to 30th August 2026. The department has a world-leading reputation in democratic governance and global political society, across areas such as political trust, democratic innovations, electoral behaviour, environmental justice, global governance, migration, and international security. It has a strong reputation in the application of cutting-edge research methods, ranging from political ethnography to experimental social science.

The role



We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow to contribute to the thriving education and research and culture of PAIR. You will work with a strong body of staff in a growing Department. We welcome applications from across the field of Politics and International Relations, but we strongly encourage those within the areas of EU Politics, Human Rights, Children's Rights and Gender Politics. Candidates will contribute to the teaching activities of PAIR in these areas of specialism at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.


The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to module delivery across our curriculum, including but not limited to:

Politics and Governance of the EU Gender, Politics and Power Children and Human Rights Public Policy Ethics

You will contribute to the educational activities of PAIR through delivering innovative, research-led instruction, designing, and marking assignments and examination papers, and through supporting an engaged learning community. In particular, you will be able to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

About you



You will have a PhD (or be nearing completion) in politics or a cognate discipline, have a growing reputation in the field, and possess the ability to plan, manage, organise and assess your own teaching contributions.


It is expected that the start date of the appointment will be 1st September 2025.
