About us

------------

UCL is one of the world's leading research universities, renowned for its innovative and impactful research. Rated second in the UK for 'Research Strength' in REF2021, UCL's Department of Biochemical Engineering (UCLBE) is the largest academic bioprocessing group globally. Our mission is to educate future leaders and drive research innovation to solve global health, food security, and climate change challenges, improving quality of life through our outstanding biochemical engineering programs.

About the role

------------------

The Department of Biochemical Engineering is looking for 2 x Teaching and Learning Administrators to support the delivery of our Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. You will manage key aspects of programme administration, including student records, timetabling, module allocations, and assessment processes. The role involves coordinating induction activities, handling student enquiries, monitoring attendance, and maintaining compliance with UCL policies. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and provide committee support, ensuring an excellent student experience. Important Note About our EASE (Education Administration and Student Experience) roles UCL and The Engineering Faculty are currently reviewing professional service staff roles as part of the Education Administration and Student Experience (EASE) programme. This means that some roles may change in the future -- including things like job titles, responsibilities, or terms and conditions. For this reason, many of the EASE roles that we are currently recruiting are fixed term. These roles provide essential support while we go through this change process. Where a role is fixed term we will make this clear on the advert and during the interview and offer processes. If you're applying for or accepting an EASE role, please be aware that it could be affected by the outcomes of this review. Any changes will be communicated with staff and handled in line with UCL's usual HR processes.

About you

You will bring strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure. Excellent IT skills (MS Office) and a willingness to learn new systems are essential, along with clear communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, students, and external stakeholders.
