About the role


------------------


The successful candidate will assist the Lecturer (Teaching) - Experimentation with the smooth running of the teaching labs. They will create Risk and COSHH assessments for the teaching laboratories, supporting the Facilities Manager and Departmental Safety Officer to enable a safe and functional workplace for all staff, researchers and undergraduates. The successful candidate will support final year undergraduate and MSc students with their research projects, providing technical and safety support.



This is a fixed term role until 30th September 2029 in the first instance.



Salary is 43,981 - 52,586 per annum inclusive of London allowance.

About you


-------------


The successful candidate will have:


A strong knowledge of chemistry or engineering. Experience handling hazardous chemicals and managing lab safety. The ability to conduct risk assessments, safety inductions, and emergency response. The ability to prepare solutions and manage lab infrastructure for teaching sessions and student projects.
