We have a fantastic opportunity for a Team Lead - Test & Validation to join our Powertrain Engineering team. Reporting into the Head of Powertrain, you will lead and manage the Powertrain Test & Validation team and provide governance through consistency of approach and control. This will involve leading the testing of powertrain components and systems such as HV battery systems and driveline components (motors, inverters, etc.) for the purposes of validating project requirements and/or completing legislative and regulatory certification. Where required/appropriate, you will be required to perform the planning, testing, analysis & reporting yourself as part of a small team.


Degree educated or equivalent, you will have extensive experience as an engineer with additional experience of the build of HV systems/components as part of an OEM, Tier 1 supplier, engineering consultancy or motorsport team and will be used to working on up to 800v systems as a Senior Authorised Person/Person in Charge. In addition, you will have the following experience:

A comprehensive technical understanding of powertrain systems, especially electric vehicle powertrains. An understanding of battery design and architectures in an automotive or motorsport engineering environment. Expertise in working to detailed work procedures/processes (including Safe Systems of Work). Expertise in diagnostic & fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems. Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office software. Expertise in the interpretation of engineering documents, work instructions and engineering drawings. A thorough understanding of industry standards and regulatory guidelines. Excellent knowledge of test equipment capabilities. A high level of data analysis and processing experience. Experience of using data analysis & processing tools such as MoTeC, Matlab, Excel VBA, Vector tools, etc. Experience working with automotive communication protocols such as CANbus, etc. Experience of managing, scheduling, budgeting, and resourcing of a significant engineering task or project.
