Role Summary
As a Medication-Trained Team Leader, you will support our Home Manager and Senior Team in delivering high-quality care. You'll lead and develop a team of care staff to meet residents' needs through safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise care team members during shifts, ensuring safe staffing, clear task delegation, and consistent high-quality care delivery.
Provide hands-on personal care aligned with residents' individual care plans.
Administer medication and complete MAR charts accurately in accordance with policies and best practices.
Oversee and manage medication supplies and ensure compliance with medication procedures.
Ensure clear and accurate documentation of care, including observations, handovers, risk assessments, and incident reports.
Support induction, training, and supervision of new and existing care staff.
Act as a role model for professional standards, infection control, safeguarding, and care regulation compliance.
Liaise with GPs, health professionals, families, and external agencies to ensure coordinated and timely care.
Contribute to a safe, respectful, and engaging environment that supports residents' independence and well-being.
Ensure continuity of care in the absence of senior management, including reporting to Care Quality Commission (CQC) if required.
Skills & Qualifications
Medication training in a previous role (NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
Experience in adult social care, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills..
Knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, medication management, and care planning.
Compassion, empathy, professionalism, and the ability to mentor and inspire the team.
