Working for a caring family run bakery, the ideal candidate must come from a similar back ground within FMCG. You will be able to multitask to keep track of multiple areas and employees within the bakery. Efficient utilisation of labour is paramount, with good communication skills at all levels being a necessity and ensuring adherence to the daily production plan, while liaising with engineers on machine faults or break downs. As well as the above, the role will comprise of having a hands on approach of setting up of some of the machines and ensuring the correct ingredients are ready for the production/ packing line, as well as keeping track of OEE, waste and other efficiencies. Flexibility on start and finish times on a rotating basis in line with the bakery is a must. You will be responsible for the completion of required paperwork and identify any problems with product quality, process, staff, equipment or machinery that may have an impact on production etc. and take the necessary actions.
Health & Safety is an integral part of the role to ensure guidelines are followed - taking necessary action to reduce accidents, near misses and potential hazards, while adhering to the company hygiene policy and procedures, demonstrating clean as you go. Training staff is a key responsibility of this role and ensuring that all employees reach the performance required is essential, while maintaining disciplines within the bakery.

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor and working in a team with three other team leaders and a charge hand, overseeing approx. 75 colleagues across two separate production areas, you will have the ability to think proactively and anticipate upcoming issues, working with the team identifying areas of improvement and helping come up with solutions to problems. Encouraging and supporting near miss reporting and potential hazards to reduce accidents, as well as adhering to the hygiene policy and procedure, demonstrating clean as you go and ensuring that production/paperwork and hygiene are all up to audit ready standards at all times.
This role will be 40 hours per week and have rotating shift start times 7.00am to 15.30pm and 9.00am until 17.30pm, working Monday to Friday. Christmas and New Year working except for the bank holidays is required.
