We are a small care home which caters for all the needs of our seventeen service users whom predominately will have varying levels of dementia. This type of care is very demanding and requires all staff to be 100% motivated in providing the best levels of care for the services users, this is why we are looking for a special type of carer to assist leading our team as a Team leader.

This role will primarily involve leading the staff team as well as delivering a high level of care to our service users. Working closely with our Home Manager and Senior staff to ensure the home functions in a safe manner, and whereby providing the utmost dignity and care to all of our service users.

The Team leader will need to be flexible in their approach and adapt to the ever changing needs of the environment. This will include some weekend work, on call and covering shifts where the needs arises. We are looking for someone to act as the person in charge of the home in any absence of the Manager, ensuring that legislation is adhered to and standards are maintained. To assist the Home Manager in handling residents' personal finances, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times. To provide the highest level of personal care and attention to residents, following individual care plans carefully and ensuring that all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive.

Responsible for; understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements that are relevant, including; Health & Safety, COSHH, all aspects of the Care Standards Act to ensure that all care teams and other staff maintain a safe environment throughout the home. To participate in the formulation of individual care plans for each resident and administer medication to residents as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records for both. Responsible for ordering, checking in and stock control of residents' prescribed medication. Responsible for stock control and ordering new supplies of continence and medical products. To always be alert to residents physical and mental well being, immediately dealing with and reporting any changes in a resident's condition. Liaising with other care professionals as required, and ensuring that all records are updated accurately.To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident's personal information at all times, this includes resident's behaviour and actions and any incidents that may occur in the course of day to day care and to ensure that all care teams and other staff understand and respect this. Ensure that all care teams and other staff are understanding and patient towards residents and their needs, and encourage, assist and support residents to participate in leisure activities as appropriate to the individual, ensuring their social and emotional needs are met. Occasionally escorting residents to outside appointments and leisure outings. Undertaking general care assistant duties throughout the home as needed. To be an active and encouraging senior member of the Care team, contributing to and helping to lead team meetings, ensuring good communication and leading the induction and training of newly appointed care assistants, ensuring that Hamilton's Care Home is a friendly and supportive working environment.

To be suitable for this role we would require past experience in similar position from someone who has a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care with the interest and desire to work towards NVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care if they do not already hold this.
