The Broker Sales Team Leader plays a pivotal role in driving mortgage completions and leading a high-performing sales team. This hybrid role balances hands-on application management with strategic leadership, fostering strong relationships with broker firms and internal departments to deliver outstanding results.
Time Allocation
30% - Managing new mortgage applications through to completion
70% - Team leadership and strategic responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Application Management (30%) - Lead by example
Oversee and progress new mortgage applications from submission to completion.
Ensure timely and compliant processing aligned with lender and regulatory standards
Team Leadership & Strategy (70%)
Lead, coach, and motivate Broker Sales Executives (BSEs) to exceed individual and team SLA's and KPI's
Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear goals and expectations
Identify training needs and coordinate development plans
Conduct monthly performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback
Act as escalation point for BSEs and broker firms
Maintain regular contact with broker firms and their team leaders to strengthen partnerships
Champion cross-functional collaboration with:

+ Marketing
Support in regular team meetings to share updates, insights, and drive engagement
Skills and Experience:
Essential
Proven leadership experience in a sales environment
Minimum 2 years' experience in Mortgage Broker Sales
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to lead teams to meet and exceed sales targets
Desirable
CeMAP or equivalent mortgage qualification
Sound knowledge of specialist mortgage products and distribution, particularly homeowner loans
