Job Description

We are looking for a Team Leader to join our highly valued and well-established Specialist SEND and Inclusion Support (SIS) Service.



This is an additional Team Leader post and it is anticipated that the successful candidate would work within the Communication and Interaction Team, however you may be asked to manage and support projects and staff who work across the service in any of our teams.



We would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants with management experience who also have considerable skills and knowledge in supporting neurodivergent children and young people, including autistic young people, those with ADHD, and those with speech and language or communication needs.



The role will involve day to day line management of a team of staff including allocation of resources; planning, oversight and reporting of commissioned work; membership of relevant local authority steering groups and senior management groups; a small caseload and delivery of CPD to educational settings and other teams within the local authority.

You will have the chance to work collaboratively with other team leaders in the service as well as other professional partners, and the benefit of supervision with one of the Area Principle Educational Psychologists.

You will have:

QTS up to date knowledge of SEND legislation considerable experience of working in partnership with schools and other services, and will have been involved in partnership projects extensive knowledge of strategies, approaches and resources appropriate for children with SEND, particularly neurodivergent young people and those with difficulties in speech and language, communication and interaction significant experience of delivering training or workshops, including to other professionals and services within your local area partnership your own transport arrangements to enable you to travel distances between schools

HYBRID WORKING

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
