As a Co-op team leader, you'll often be responsible for all store operations. You'll manage a small but dedicated colleague group of team members and be the public face of this brilliant new store. If you've proven yourself as a leader before, particularly in a fast-paced retail environment, then now is the time to apply. You'll help us to run our brand-new store, work within a professional team and support some brilliant local projects by sharing profits within the community.

What you'll do as Team Leader
Supporting the successful running of the store, you'll guide the team's learning and development and be a go-to person for advice and support. There's a wide variety of duties to handle, including;
Being a key holder - often opening or closing the store
Being a positive role model to the team
Setting a standard of exceptional customer service and really getting to know our customers
Actively promoting Co-op membership and the local projects we support
Train and develop colleagues
Ensure the store is safe and secure by performing daily checks
Preparing and presenting our products, including from the bakery
Keeping the store well stocked and looking at its best
Who can be a Team Leader at Co-op?
Ideally, you'll have experience in a fast-paced, retail environment and from a position of responsibility but that's not the whole picture. It's your personality, skills, motivation and values that matter.
You'll need to show us;
Organisational and time management skills
Great communication
Experience of supporting and coordinating colleagues
Experience of handling and resolving customer queries
The ability to think on your feet
The ability to build relationships with people of all kinds
Drive and ideas to help improve store sales
An enthusiastic approach and willingness to always support your colleagues 'hands on'
Flexibility to work a range of shifts to support the opening times of the store
Please note, you must be aged 18 to take on this role, as it involves authorising age-related sales.
You must be able to drive to take up this role as public transport is limited to the area.
Working pattern:
varied shifts over 7 days including early mornings (store opening), afternoons, late evenings (store closing) and weekends, to be discussed at interview. Where possible we shall look to accommodate successful candidates with their preferred option of hours and shifts, although this cannot be guaranteed.
