Job Description



Tiny Tim's Children's Centre is an established registered charity which provides free complementary treatments to children and young people with disabilities, health problems and special needs. You will be based in our Purple Planet soft play area, whose main goal is to raise funds for the charity, with all entrance fees and profits from the parties and cafe going straight to the charity enabling us to provide the therapy sessions. The Purple Planet is specifically designed to encourage integrated play between children with disabilities and special needs and able-bodied children, all of whom have to access the centre for play sessions and parties. The cafe and play area combined with our on-site treatment centre, create our unique two-sided centre: with our therapy centre where we provide the free complementary treatments for children with disabilities and special needs and our Purple Planet soft play area which is open to the general public and is very popular, offering play sessions, cafe and birthday parties. The Purple Planet is open from 9:30am to 5:00pm Tuesday - Friday and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm. After school parties are available so you may be required to stay until 6pm on occasions.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Purple Planet team, as a Team Leader. The main focus of this position would be to work alongside and lead our other team members in supporting the manager on a daily basis; helping to organise, train and develop a team of eight, whilst adhering to our high standards and driving sales.

The Purple Planet is open Tuesday to Sunday, Ideally the person taking on this role needs to be able to work 9:30am-5:15pm Wednesday to Friday, and 8.30am-4:30pm Saturday and Sunday totalling 36.75 hours over 5 days.

Main Responsibilities



Oversee daily operations, ensuring adherence to food safety plus health & safety standards and regulations. Ensuring customers and clients are served in a friendly, professional and efficient manner. Lead the effective day to day workflow within the team Responsibilities include day to day service, as well as completing cleaning rotas, ordering, stock take, cashing up and for opening and closing the centre You will be responsible for the preparation and service of food and drinks together with maintaining food hygiene standards and the cleanliness of the kitchen and surrounding areas Coaching and developing staff to achieve their highest potential. Promoting the charity to new and existing customers Focusing on developmental aspects of the business Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring a high level of service among the team.

Leading by example in all aspects of your work. Previous experience within a coffee/restaurant/hospitality setting Previous team leader/ supervisory experience ideal but not essential Strong customer service skills essential Desire to succeed and lead the charity forwards Self-motivate and aspire to develop and evolve with the business A 'can-do' attitude Flexible approach to working hours and practices
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.51 per hour

Expected hours: 36.75 per week
