RESPONSIBILITES

Complex Care

You will be responsible to act as the team leader for a care team who provide care for young adult with complex health needs. You will be working alongside a team of his experienced PA's to provide 2:1 support. You will liaise with his multidisciplinary team of therapist and ensure he accesses a full therapy program. You will be in charge of communication between college and home, ensuring the home PA's are able to implement the therapy/ education programs when not in college. There may be some occasional weekend cover required, 1-2 days/month.

This young adult really enjoys drama, music therapy, baking, rebound therapy, arts and crafts and hydrotherapy. He is non verbal but uses symbols and an eye gaze to communicate. He is PEG fed, past experience of PEG feeding is essential. He requires full support for personal care and daily living.

Great rates of pay available 18.20-20.20/hr Flexible working hours available. 28 days of paid holiday per year and 8 bank holidays paid (Pro rata) Full support from the excellent established care team. Range of shifts 6hrs-12hrs, Part time work 1 to 3 shifts/week

CARER REQUIREMENT

We are looking for conscientious, dedicated individuals to join our team

Good communication skills, experience of clients who are non verbal is preferable (eg symbols) and use of Eye gaze equipment is preferable A minimum of at least 3-years Care experience in complex care needs (PEG feeding) Must be flexible and available to cover occasional shifts during weekends. Full drivers' license own vehicle is essential (Not on a bus route route) Bank account in the UK Written and spoken English to an intermediate level Must be in good health and have a good attendance record. Have the right to work in the UK Must be a non-smoker

Salary: 38,000-42,00 per year (pro rata)

Experience:

Care Assistant in complex care : minimum 3years (essential) Team leader role in a complex care team 3 years (essential) Work experience in special needs school/college (ideal but not essential)
