Team Leader



Jump on board with an amazing opportunity at Bolton Cares, as a Team Leader within our Extra Care service. Our housing consists of self-contained apartments with access to on-site care and support ensuring residents can maintain their independence and feel safe and secure in the comfort of their own home, with communal facilities on site allows service users the ability to meet with friends or take part in a wide range of social activities from coffee mornings to exercise classes. The aim of our Extra Care facilities is to enable residents to choose the level of care they need from the security and privacy of their own home. Each development is supported by trained, professional care-staff who are on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to deliver care and support when it is needed and is suitable to support people with a wide range of care needs.

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to deliver high quality, person-centred practice, supporting people to make decisions about their lives, who is passionate about the job, promotes equality and diversity and ensure the service is sensitive to people's individual requirements, whilst having the skills and knowledge to empower their teams to provide a high standard of support and care for everyone. Be committed to developing your own knowledge and skills in line with the needs of the people you support and work proactively with other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

About the role:



Team Leaders will thrive on creating great teams where staff take pride in what they do, value, and respect the people they support and are committed to delivering excellent services.

The purpose of the role is to provide leadership and direction to staff and to deliver excellent care and support. As a role model to others, you will support the Registered Manager and Service Manager in leading, managing and developing teams.

Seek to stretch yourself professionally and welcome feedback.

You will need to work to the regulations and policies set internally and externally e.g. Care Quality Commission, Commissioners.

The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and you will work on a rota which includes weekends and bank holidays.

Experience and skills required:



Previous experience of person-centred practice, supporting people to make decisions about their lives.

Promote equality and diversity, ensuring the service is sensitive to people's culture, age, gender, religion, race, sexual orientation, and disability.

Skills and knowledge to empower team to provide a high standard of support and care for everyone.

Be committed to developing your own knowledge and skills in line with the needs of the people you support and undertake training where appropriate.

To work proactively with other professionals to achieve positive outcome, to support adults within a social care setting.

About you:



Have a 'can do' and solution-focused approach to problem solving and service development, create a listening culture and respect for the views of others. Can identify opportunities where working in collaboration with others within and across networks can bring added benefits to the people we support. Connect with the local community and work co-operatively with all audit teams and action recommendations. Create a working environment whereby the teams advocate on behalf of the person they are supporting. Be able to Identify and manage risks proactively considering LPS/Best interest. Able to professionally challenge others to achieve the right outcomes to all situations, whilst help to create a wonderful place to work. Function as a role model, sharing best practices and behaving in a manner that reflects the values of the organisation. Ensure that people are treated with compassion, kindness and that their dignity is respected.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 28,511.42 per year
