We'd like you to join us as a Team Leader at our service Granville Lodge in Hartlepool.


Granville Lodge is a 9 bedded Children's home close to the centre of Hartlepool for children and young people who require a high level of specialist care due to physical and learning disabilities due to conditions such as Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy.


We also welcome Children and Young People who stay with us for short breaks to provide respite. We encourage and promote lots of activities and trips out with our young people to ensure that they get a chance to have fun and encounter different experiences; we aim to replicate a family environment.







What you'll be working:




37.5 hours per week - hours will be averaged out over a 4 week period


Days shifts, Night shifts on a rota system


Will include weekends and bank holidays


Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is required to ensure that the home runs smoothly and safely. The exact working pattern will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

What you'll be doing:




As a Team Leader, you will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the running of the home via shift leading and to ensure that all quality standards are maintained. The right candidate will hold safeguarding children at the very centre of their practice, have good communication skills and be able to liaise effectively with all agencies involved with the children in our care.


The right person will be able to lead the team in delivering solid outcomes for the children and young people, promoting their rights, dignity and safety at all times.


The right person will be expected, alongside the Manager and Deputy Manager, to promote strong morale amongst the team striving towards making Granville Lodge a Great Place to Work.

What you'll have:



Relevant experience (min. 1 years) working within a children's home setting, ideally within a Learning Disabilities/PMLD environment. An understanding / sound knowledge of Children's Homes Quality Standards Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare or Children's Workforce (or equivalent) - or have this qualification well underway. Experience of leading, coaching and mentoring a team and ensuring that relevant Codes of Conduct are upheld. Competent IT skills, mainly MS Office Driving License desirable. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
