Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Team Leader Learning Disability Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in leading fulfilling lives while promoting their independence and dignity. This role involves working in a supportive home setting.

The role also requires the successful applicant to provide support, share knowledge and experience with the colleagues in their team. They should have excellent organisation skills and be able to lead their team by example.

Responsibilities



Deliver personalised care and support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their needs are met with respect and empathy. Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and enhance the quality of life for clients. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a nurturing environment. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs. Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition. Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations. The ability to organise and plan a shift effectively are essential. Promote a team culture and lead the shift, in a positive, nurturing and supportive manner.

Experience



Previous experience in a similar role is preferred ; training will be provided for the right candidate. Experience in home care, nursing homes, or assisted living settings is required. Knowledge of dementia care, learning disability, and mental health environment, is beneficial. Skills in patient care and medication administration are highly valued. A background in nursing or related fields will be considered an asset. Level 3 Health and Social care qualification, is required and any team leading qualification, is beneficial.
