Join Horizons Academy as one of our Business Team Leaders.

Working hours: 37 Hours Monday to Friday, Term time only

Salary: Grade 5

Be part of Horizons Academy, a brand new, state of the art special school opening in January 2026 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. The purpose-built academy will meet the needs of children and young people from key stage 2 to 5 with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), along with autism spectrum conditions (ASC). The academy will accommodate 160 pupils aged 7 to 19.

We are looking for a Business Team Leader to start from September 2025 with an initial focus on assisting with work prior to the academy opening. You will be based at Yeoman Park Academy for the Autumn Term.

The successful candidate will:
have astute problem solving skills that engage others and support project completion; and be able to demonstrate efficient collaborative and flexible working utilising a variety of IT systems; be able to manage staff and resources, set and achieve objectives and targets; and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively over two academies and teams.

Essential
Educated to GCSE level with a good standard of English and Maths qualifications. Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students and providing equality of opportunity




Desirable
Be able to demonstrate project management skills that provide evidence of planning, implementing and completing project objectives successfully Understanding of statutory regulations in relation to Human Resources and Finance

The opportunity



This role is for a Business Team Leader to be on site to plan for, and manage day to day operational activity on multiple areas of support services and be on site to support the senior leadership team on a daily basis around Systems, Solutions, High Performance and Best Practice. You will work as part of the team supporting across our three special academies (Horizons Academy, Redgate Primary Academy and Yeoman Park Academy). The role will be based at Horizons Academy once the academy opens. The candidate will work alongside our Team Leader, Business Manager, Academy Business Leader and the wider admin team, and will be an integral part of our successful academy.

As our academy is currently under construction, it is not possible to offer visits to the school. Visits can be arranged to Redgate Academy and Yeoman Park Academy, our two current special schools. We expect the construction to be completed in autumn 2025, ready to welcome the first students in January 2026.
