Network Rail High Speed Ltd. (NRHS) is responsible for operating, maintaining and renewing the UK\'s only international high-speed railway, High Speed (HS1).

Brief Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a unique maintenance team that provides a bespoke 25kV isolation support function to facilitate the delivery of a large renewals work bank on a high speed railway. This is a rewarding, diverse and multi-skilled role within the maintenance organisation at Network Rail High Speed.

We are looking to recruit a Team Leader (OCS) within the overhead line maintenance team, to direct, organise and motivate the team to ensure work is undertaken safely, efficiently and to the relevant standards.

As an OCS Team Leader you will support the working supervisor and the wider maintenance team by undertaking direct inspection, fault rectification works, maintenance and renewal work as allocated. You\'ll actively contribute to the overall performance of the team, complete designated tasks in a safe and timely manner, be proactive and consistent with planning ahead ensuring the work completed is of the required quality and always recorded accurately.

As part of your duties, you will be required to:

\xc2\xb7 Undertake ground level and high level inspections of 25kV overhead line assets.

\xc2\xb7 Undertake OCS maintenance activities in a safe, efficient manner and in accordance with Network Rail High Speed method statements

\xc2\xb7 Provide OCS incident response as directed by the OCS management team.

\xc2\xb7 Implement a robust 5 weekly foot patrol inspection regime to identify overhead line defects.

\xc2\xb7 Check that the staff under your control have the appropriate and valid competencies using a competency database

\xc2\xb7 Ensure that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials under your control are fit for use and are used/stored and disposed of correctly.

\xc2\xb7 Produce an accurate daily shift report compiling evidence of all work completed / not completed.

\xc2\xb7 Contribute to your own development and that of others.

\xc2\xb7 Adhere to company policies and procedures.

About the role (External)

The person:

So, who are we looking for? We are looking for motivated, dynamic individuals who will display a clear desire to deliver overhead line maintenance and renewals support to the relevant standards and who will demonstrate compliance with Network Rail\'s approach to safety.

We are looking for applicants who will showcase a strong work ethic, will support their maintenance colleagues and display problem solving behaviours during planned / reactive works.

Essential criteria:

\xc2\xb7 Have a minimum of 2 years experience undertaking 25kV overhead line maintenance in a railway environment?

\xc2\xb7 Have a good understanding of a railway 25kV overhead line system?

\xc2\xb7 Have the ability to work at height and undertake lone working?

\xc2\xb7 Have experience of arranging and implementing safe systems of work?

\xc2\xb7 Have knowledge and experience of plant inspection, fault / incident response, maintenance and renewal techniques?

\xc2\xb7 Have the experience of leading and motivating a team?

\xc2\xb7 Have a full driving licence, to drive vehicles as required by the business?

Desirable criteria:

\xc2\xb7 Hold a Network Rail OLE Maintenance qualification

\xc2\xb7 Ideally hold (or be working towards) an NVQ level 1 or 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or have attained an appropriate level of knowledge through equivalent relevant experience.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate the ability to work in a collaborate manner?

\xc2\xb7 Have the experience of leading and motivating a team?

Salary - \xc2\xa335,705 (plus outer London allowance of \xc2\xa31,940)
