Operations Team Leader

to oversee the day-to-day running of our operations team and support the continued growth of the business.

The Role



Reporting directly to the Director, the Operations Leader will play a vital role in managing projects, coordinating field engineers, and ensuring all operational processes run smoothly. You'll work closely with our Estimator, Office Administrator, and on-site engineers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard of compliance and client satisfaction.

This is a hands-on role that requires initiative, leadership, and the ability to make informed decisions. You'll be expected to act responsibly in the best interests of the business, ensuring operations continue seamlessly and that the team remains supported and productive.

Key Responsibilities



Oversee the daily operations of the business, managing workflow between office and field teams Supervise and support field engineers carrying out fire door inspections, maintenance, and installations Work alongside the Estimator to prepare, review, and deliver client estimates Liaise directly with clients regarding works, estimates, project progress, and completion Attend site meetings with clients to discuss scopes of work and progress updates Collaborate with the Director and Office Administrator to ensure business objectives are achieved Assist in implementing and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the company Monitor project timelines, resourcing, and compliance documentation Identify operational improvements and contribute to the company's organic growth Make independent, well-informed decisions and represent the company professionally in the Director's absence Ensure excellent communication across departments and maintain strong client relationships

Skills & Experience



Proven experience in an operations, supervisory, or project coordination role (fire safety or construction background preferred) Good knowledge of fire doors and basic fire safety requirements Excellent organisational and leadership skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with both clients and team members Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and act in the best interest of the business Understanding of fire door compliance standards or willingness to undergo training Competent using digital systems such as Google Workspace, QuickBooks. Problem-solving mindset and ability to take initiative Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites across the South West

Hours



Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 5:00pm (occasional flexibility required for site visits)
