About the Role

Team Leader

you will play a vital role in our Engineering Department, overseeing workshop operations, maintaining industry-standard equipment, and ensuring safe and effective technical support for staff and students. You will lead a team of technicians, support curriculum delivery while championing best practices in diagnostics, maintenance, and sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide high-level technical and diagnostic support across motor vehicle systems
Manage and maintain workshop equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Lead and mentor technicians, promoting safe working practices
Oversee stock levels, procurement, and supplier relationships
Preparing and setting up classroom and workshop spaces for teaching activities.
Assisting lecturers in the demonstration and delivery of practical sessions.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, can work independently, and enjoys contributing to the learning journey of students.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in motor vehicle or engineering maintenance and a proactive, collaborative approach. You should have:
A minimum of Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
(or equivalent).
First Aid qualification (or to achieve within 12 months)
A Level 3 qualification
(or equivalent) in one or more of the following:
+ Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
+ Electronic/Electrical Engineering Maintenance
+ Mechanical Engineering Maintenance
Previous industry experience is essential, along with the confidence to support technical instruction and equipment upkeep in an educational setting.
