The role:
Shoal Team Leader role is to help, support and ensure the smooth running of the operational shift, so that we pick, pack and deliver the correct product on time to our Customers.
Key Responsibilities of each role:
Work with the senior team to help run the day to day operations, managing workflow and supporting the team.
Working in a refrigerated & frozen environments
Oversee the goods in, picking and packing process to ensure all customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
Allocate picking tasks to team members based on order priority, delivery schedules, and staff availability
Use internal systems and software confidently to manage workflow, documentation and updating stock levels (outlook, excel, word) and report discrepancies
Conduct regular stock checks to ensure correct product rotation and minimise picking errors
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe prepared in line with food safety and hygiene standards
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as they arise
Support and lead the team with professionalism and clear communication
Identify and resolve issues in the picking workflow, escalating to senior management when necessary
Collaborate with logistics, sales, and prep teams to ensure smooth flow of operations
Ensure VIP and high-priority orders are handled with extra care and attention to detail
Lead by example during busy periods, assisting with hands-on picking and packing as needed
Holiday & sickness cover for the senior ops team's shifts as needed
Ensure all the orders and picking instructions and end of day requirements are completed by the end of the shift.
Prepare thorough shift handovers to ensure continuity for the next day/shift.
Please note the role requires you to work in an ambient and chilled environment of a temperature of 3c - 5c, but not to worry - we will provide you with the necessary uniform, PPE, and equipment to keep you warm!
The successful candidate will possess the below skills, experience, and qualities:
Previous Warehouse Management experience is desirable.
Previous production/picking line experience would be an advantage.
The ability to work methodically and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to load and unload goods (manual handling).
