Salary range: 59,791- 63,159 p.a. inc. London Weighting
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Civic centre and other locations from time to time

We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager role within our Child Protection/Court. We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate practitioners who are committed to providing the best possible outcomes for our young people.


The Post



The manager for our Child Protection/ Court team will ensure that we deliver consistently high quality practice for families where child protection concerns have been identified. They will also ensure that workers are effective in completing successful applications to court.


They will work collaboratively to very tight deadlines and ensure that the child's needs are paramount and that their voice is evident throughout. The post holder will have a sound understanding of child protection procedures and childcare legislation. They will also understand effective management practices, particularly as they relate to performance management and the development of services and staff.


This role involves:


Working with children, young people and families on child protection plans Empowering families to develop safety in their networks and supporting family decision making Progressing cases, where necessary, through pre-proceedings and care proceedings Parenting Assessments Section 7 and 37 court reports Share expertise and work in partnership with colleagues and partner agencies
Successful candidates will join an experienced and supportive management team.


This is a very exciting opportunity for new and experienced managers to join teams which are changing in line with government guidance and developing practice in order to offer young people excellent services.


The Person

We are looking for dynamic and aspirational individuals to work as Team Manager. You will have excellent communication skills, experience in managing students or a team of social workers and be enthusiastic about working with children, young people and their families. You must also be registered with Social Work England.


You will have a sound understanding of child protection and child in need casework and the legal framework which applies to these young people. The right candidate will be a strong role model and be able to develop excellent social work practice within your team. You will be able to remain calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines when required to do so.


You will lead a team of social workers to provide services to young people and support our vision of improving education, health and well-being outcomes for them. Working in partnership with schools, health colleagues and other local partners we are committed to providing better futures for all of the young people we work with.
