The post is within the Kinship team which is part of the Fostering Service. The Service has a commitment to working closely with our foster carers and with children's social work teams to ensure that fostered children are well cared for and achieve best outcomes.
What is the job role?
Due to the rise in the proportion of our children in care who are living with Kinship carers and the consequent rise in demand to the team, we are recruiting a third team manager to join the Kinship team. The successful candidate alongside other colleagues, will continue to drive forward good practice as well as Government priorities for the Service.
In addition they will have responsibility for the supervision and support of social workers and a children and families worker and support with projects within the Service. Those with experience of leadership and / or work with Kinship carers (connected persons carers and special guardians) will be particularly sought after but we will also consider those with transferable skills from other roles.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
We are particularly interested in applications from candidates who have experience of working within Fostering and in accordance with Fostering Regulations, Minimum Standards, Kinship care and Special guardianship guidance.
Effective verbal and written communication skills will be essential as will a passion for excellence in service delivery. You will be a team player, a good communicator, IT competent, driving performance and the ability to work flexibly.
