At Maples we support people to overcome challenges, reach their goals, and make a real difference to their lives. Together we plan ways for them to thrive within the community, and then work as a team with them and other partners to achieve the outcomes defined.
Maples was formed as a family run business by Simon and Sue Dickason in August, 1994. They had a vision to move away from traditional approaches of the time and towards ones that empowered individuals to take control of their own lives, offering choice around their future, and taking positive risks in the aim of growth.
Today a team of valued individuals continue their work. It has grown to offer a wide spectrum of community rehabilitative, support, and housing solutions that meet the needs of people living with mental illness and learning disability challenges.
The organisation has always tried to enable staff to focus on 'doing the right thing' and being themselves. We aim to enable people to grow by developing connections with themselves, each other, and their community. We support individuals by working with them to make decisions about their life together.
