Team Manager ( Temp Fixed Term 12 months Maternity Cover - commencing Nov 2023 - Community Assessment Team South

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Sefton Adult Social Care to become a temporary team manager in the assessment team based in Magdalen House Bootle . As a Team Manager you will have management responsibility for a busy team of both qualified Social Workers and Community Assessors, whose role is to complete assessments for adults (over the age of 18 years) completing the statutory duties of the Local Authority under the Care Act 2014. You will be expected to provide robust supervision in line with Sefton\'s supervision policy. Applicants should have proven management experience or be ready to demonstrate their readiness for the step up to a management position.

This role will provide an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of integration with our health colleagues. The Community Team South has already commenced the \'integrated journey\' envisaged by the Health and Care Act 2022 by establishing effective Integrated Multi- Disciplinary Teams and developing excellent links with health colleagues as a result. This has worked well to develop robust and safe pathways for our service users and carer, but there is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to build on these excellent foundations and develop a truly integrated placed based model. Additionally, the role will entail working with the team and senior managers to effect change in respect of the Health and Care Act 2022.

Please note that in order to apply for this post you must be qualified and registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England and have post qualifying experience preferably in Adult Social Care.

What we require from you:

  • Social Work Degree or equivalent Social Work Qualification
  • Management experience, is essential.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • The motivation and desire to impart your extensive social work knowledge, experience, skills and practice standards to Social Workers.
  • Good knowledge of the Care Act.
  • Ability to undertake one-one and group reflective supervision.
  • Proven record of chairing complex meetings.
  • Ability to understand and demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity.
  • Ability to effectively undertake partnership working with all our stakeholders and further develop these relationships.
  • Commitment to your own personal development and professional growth.
