We recognise the importance of strong leadership in supporting us to help drive forward our vision and support transformation. This means we have several exciting team manager opportunities available across our new service areas of Early Support, Disabilities and Mental Health and also Ageing Well and Safeguarding.
As team manager for Occupational Therapy you will lead our Occupational Therapy services across Independent Living, Community OT, Reablement, Discharge to Assess, and Community Equipment Services.
In this pivotal role, you'll shape and deliver high-quality, person-centred OT services that empower adults to live independently and safely. You'll lead a skilled, dynamic and hardworking team of Occupational Therapists and support staff, ensuring effective service delivery across a range of integrated care pathways. This includes overseeing OT input into Independent Living Services such as equipment and adaptations, supporting independence through Community OT Teams, enabling recovery through Reablement, facilitating timely hospital discharges via Discharge to Assess, and managing the provision and review of essential equipment through Community Equipment Services.
You'll champion the principles of the Care Act 2014 by embedding approaches that prevent, reduce, and delay the need for ongoing care and support. Working collaboratively with health, housing, and social care colleagues, you'll drive service improvement and innovation while managing performance, budgets, and resources effectively.
We're looking for an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with significant post-qualification experience in adult social care, proven leadership and team management skills, and strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and best practice in OT. Experience across hospital discharge, reablement, and community settings is essential.

Our working arrangements
All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
