to lead a frontline Children's Social Care team. This is an exciting hybrid role for a dedicated professional who is passionate about safeguarding children, delivering high-quality services, and driving improvement in practice and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide effective leadership to a team including Social Workers, Personal Advisors, Family Support Workers, and other professionals.
Ensure statutory obligations to safeguard and promote the welfare of children are met.
Monitor and improve service performance using audits, KPIs, and national/local standards.
Oversee care planning and ensure timely progression through the Public Law Outline framework.
Support the development of policies and service delivery aligned with best practice and legislation.
Authorise assessments and care plans, ensuring statutory compliance and quality standards.
Drive continuous improvement through reflective supervision and staff development.
Build strong partnerships with families, agencies, and stakeholders to achieve better outcomes.
Deputise for the Service Manager as required.
About You
Essential Qualifications & Registration:
Degree in Social Work or equivalent
Registered with Social Work England
Essential Experience:
Significant post-qualifying experience in a statutory children's social care setting
Proven experience managing frontline staff and resources
Key Skills & Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance
Strong leadership and change management capabilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage performance and chair complex meetings
Experience in supervision, team development, and quality assurance
Good IT skills and understanding of digital systems

Desirable:
Management qualification or formal leadership training
Experience managing a team budget and using resources effectively
