The 'Team Member' position is a pivotal role within the club, central to creating an exceptional member experience. You will be responsible for delivering personalised inductions, conducting comprehensive health assessments, offering introductory personal training sessions, and developing tailored fitness programmes. In addition to providing outstanding customer service, you will actively contribute to the club's growth by generating leads, reaching out to potential members, scheduling tours and day passes, and converting prospects into membership sales.

1. Personal Training Duties
:
Member Assessments
: Conduct initial fitness assessments to determine clients' fitness levels, goals, and any special needs or considerations.
Customised Workout Plans
: Develop and deliver personalised workout programmes tailored to individual clients' goals, fitness levels, and health conditions.
Motivation & Support
: Provide ongoing motivation, support, and guidance to clients to help them achieve their fitness goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Exercise Instruction
: Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and ensure clients are using correct form to prevent injury and maximise effectiveness.
Progress Tracking
: Monitor and track clients' progress through regular assessments and adjust workout plans as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
Safety & Compliance
: Ensure all training sessions comply with safety regulations and protocols. Maintain a clean and organised training environment.
2. Sales Consultant Duties:
Member Recruitment:
Actively prospect and engage potential clients through various sales strategies, including networking, referrals, and outreach campaigns.
Sales Presentations
: Conduct tours, provide information on membership options, and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective members.
Member Consultations
: Perform needs analysis with potential clients to understand their fitness goals and recommend suitable membership plans and training packages.
Sales Goals
: Achieve monthly sales targets by converting leads into paying clients and promoting fitness programmes and services.
Customer Service
: Provide exceptional customer service to existing members, addressing any concerns or enquiries and ensuring a high level of member satisfaction.
Marketing Support
: Assist in the development and execution of marketing and promotional campaigns to attract new clients and retain existing ones.

Record Keeping
: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, training sessions, progress reports, and sales activities.
Scheduling
: Coordinate and manage personal training appointments and sales consultations efficiently to optimise time and resources.

: Provide regular reports on KPIs and other relevant metrics to management.

: Work collaboratively with other members of staff and management to achieve overall business goals and contribute to a positive team environment.

5. Health & Safety:
Facility Safety
: Ensure all areas of the gym, including equipment, are regularly inspected and maintained to meet safety standards. Report any issues or hazards immediately.
First Aid & Emergencies
: Be trained in first aid, CPR, and AED usage. Respond promptly and appropriately to any health or safety incidents that may occur within the facility.
Injury Prevention
: Educate members on safe exercise practices and monitor the gym floor to ensure all users are performing exercises safely and correctly.
Compliance with Health Regulations
: Adhere to all local and national health guidelines, including maintaining hygiene standards, ensuring proper sanitation, and encouraging members to follow safe practices.
6. Compliance:
Regulatory Adherence
: Ensure all operations within the club comply with relevant laws and regulations, including fitness industry standards, health and safety laws, and privacy legislation (GDPR or local equivalents).
Data Protection
: Handle client personal and health data responsibly and in line with data protection laws, ensuring confidentiality and proper use of sensitive information.
Club Policies
: Uphold all company policies, including those related to health, safety, member conduct, and employee behaviour. Report any breaches or issues to management promptly.
Licensing & Certifications
: Maintain up-to-date professional certifications, including those required by industry standards or local regulations. Ensure the club holds all necessary licences to operate legally.
6. Cleanliness and Maintenance:
Equipment Maintenance
: Regularly inspect gym equipment for wear and tear, ensuring all machines and equipment are in safe, working condition. Report any faults or issues to the appropriate staff for immediate action.
Cleaning Standards
: Assist in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility, including wiping down machines, keeping workout areas tidy, and ensuring that all cleaning supplies are available and used effectively.
Sanitation Protocols
: Ensure that all sanitation protocols are followed, especially in high-traffic areas, including cleaning of equipment after use, hand sanitiser availability, and adherence to hygiene practices.
Locker Rooms and Bathrooms
: Conduct regular checks of locker rooms and bathrooms to ensure they are clean, well-stocked with necessary supplies, and in working order.
Waste Management
: Ensure that waste is disposed of properly in designated areas and bins are regularly emptied. Promote recycling practices where possible.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification
: Certified Personal Trainer from a recognised organisation. Additional certifications in specialised training areas are a plus.
Experience
: Proven experience in personal training and sales, preferably in a fitness or wellness environment.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent sales abilities, proficiency in fitness assessments and programme design, and a passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals.
