We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dessert Maker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a flair for creating delicious and visually appealing desserts while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of food preparation techniques, time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Duties
Prepare a variety of desserts, including cakes, pastries, and other sweet treats, following established recipes and presentation standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
Assist in the development of new dessert recipes and menu items, contributing creative ideas to enhance our offerings.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices throughout the preparation process.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods, demonstrating effective time management skills.
Upsell dessert items to customers, providing recommendations based on their preferences and enhancing their dining experience.
Support other kitchen operations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork within the restaurant environment.
Requirements
Proven experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting, preferably in dessert preparation or pastry making.
Strong culinary skills with a keen eye for detail in presentation and flavour balance.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations to maintain high hygiene standards.
Basic maths skills for accurate measurement of ingredients and portion control.
Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak service times.
A positive attitude with a willingness to help colleagues and contribute to a harmonious work environment.
Creativity and passion for desserts, with an eagerness to learn new techniques and improve skills.
