LHA London has been providing high-quality accommodation in the capital since 1940. We operate fourteen large hostels across the city, offering safe and affordable housing to nearly 2,000 young people who study or work in London. Bowden Court, our flagship hostel located in the vibrant heart of Notting Hill, accommodates up to 300 residents and volunteers.
Main Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a positive, ambitious individual who wants to build a long term career in the hospitality industry. You will play a key role in the daily operations of Bowden Court, working across reception, housekeeping, and catering to create a warm and reliable experience for our residents. You bring at least one year of experience in a hotel or hostel environment, a solid understanding of day to day operations, and a proactive, people focused attitude that makes every interaction feel welcoming and professional.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver consistently high customer service and create a positive resident experience
Support managers with customer feedback, improvement ideas, and smooth daily operations
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across all areas of the hostel
Work positively with colleagues to support a strong team environment
Promote food and beverage services and follow all food hygiene and health and safety requirements
Provide efficient reception support, manage bookings, handle cash correctly, and use systems to maximise revenue
Spot and act on sales opportunities
Complete all assigned duties to a high standard
Key Skills and Experience
At least one year of experience in a hotel, hostel, or similar hospitality setting
Strong customer service approach and clear communication skills
Ability to work efficiently across reception, housekeeping, and catering tasks
Proactive mindset with a focus on high standards and continuous improvement
Confident using booking systems and handling basic administrative tasks
Reliable, organised, and comfortable working in a busy, fast paced environment
