Your role will be to join the Distribution Team at the National Distribution Centre. You will be required to assist in implementing distribution plans for the Transport function to meet current and future customer service requirements and continually improve cost efficiency and quality of service in line with the Distribution Centre goals. Reporting to the Distribution Shift Manager, you will assist the Distribution Shift Manager who will have responsibility for approximately 150 drivers on differing shift patterns.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include assisting the Distribution Shift Manager with:

Day to day management and planning of the Distribution function, ensuring standards and targets are met. Input into Distribution Cost Budgets. Staff Recruitment/Retention. Staff Training and Development. Health & Safety and Legal obligations - ensuring adherence to Company policies and procedures. Increase driver awareness to reduce accidents. Customer Service. Ensure compliance with current Transport Legislation.

You should be computer literate, have excellent man management, commercial, analytical and communication skills. You should also have an understanding of current commercial vehicle legislation. LGV C or LGV C+E and CPC qualification is essential as there will be a requirement to complete driving duties when necessary. You should display a high degree of flexibility as this post will involve weekend working.
