About The Role




Compass Community are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Therapist, whose professional background and training is underpinned by theories of working with trauma, attachment and loss.

The role will be based in our Residential and Family Assessment Centre. To be considered, you will have good working knowledge in supporting children and young people in the Care sector.

Main Purpose of Role



As the Team Therapist in the Residential Family Assessment Centre your overarching purpose is to be part of a team who work on giving parents the very best opportunities of developing themselves and their abilities to care for their children. You will work collaboratively with the Therapeutic Services Team as part of our holistic approach to linking all aspects of therapeutic principles between the Assessment Centre, Parent/Child Fostering placements and Therapeutic Services. You will be providing individual therapy to enable parents to overcome their trauma as well as running Therapeutic Parenting groups. You will be training staff in Trauma Informed Practice, enabling understanding of links with developing capacity to parent. You will be providing Therapeutic individual and group supervision to staff. You will provide reports to inform the Parenting Capacity Assessment

You Must Have



Minimum 2 years recognised Post Qualifying Accredited Therapeutic qualification and appropriate registration in Systemic Psychotherapy, Integrative Psychotherapy or similar. Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the applicant's professional registration/accrediting body. Minimum 4 years' experience of involvement with the Care systems and related agencies. High levels of Resilience and strength in reflection to respond proactively to your own needs. Comprehension and working experience of Neurodiversity and Learning Disabilities. Experience of offering training individually and in group contexts. A clear and theoretically informed approach to supervision. Good report writing skills. Trauma -informed knowledge as applied to the client group using this service. Knowledge of guidance and legislation in relation to the client group including safeguarding. Ability to apply theoretical knowledge with different cultural contexts and experience of working within a multicultural framework. Full driving licence Understanding responsibilities in protecting their own health, safety and wellbeing and that of their colleagues and others.

Desirable:



Sound knowledge and/or clinical application of infant attachment theories (including the Dynamic-Maturational Model of Attachment and Adaptation - DMM).



Training or experience in infant observation models, such as: Tavistock Infant Observation model Other psychoanalytic infant observation frameworks used in psychotherapy training. Familiarity with Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) principles. Understanding of parent-infant psychotherapy approaches. Training in systemic or psychodynamic approaches to parent-infant relationships. Experience of working within multidisciplinary or residential family assessment contexts with infants and young children.
