If you are a tech investor & operator/CTO of an established full-stack development company, this is an opportunity for you to build a portfolio of technology-enabled startups, by providing (investing) a bolt-on tech dev team to continue building upon existing technologies, with a monthly basic plus a partial investment-for-equity. Our portfolio is UK, EU, US predominantly.

Axial Ventures is a corporate investor that backs tech-enabled startups that have been founded by entrepreneurs across a wide range of industries. Based in London and operating in the UK, US, and Europe, we offer founders the investment of corporate resources for scaling their business, plus additional syndicated funding from our co-investor network, and unrivalled access to a global network of corporate partners.

We're looking for an experienced leader/owner of a full-stack dev team and you should have entrepreneurial ambitions to invest into established startups from the early iteration of their SAAS solutions (usually already market-proven), by deploying your tech team to accelerate the building of functionality and innovation within each product. Experience investing into startups is helpful.

This is intended to be an additional business line to your current business. We don't expect this to take away from your existing business.

Technical CTO / Co-investor:

Each startup you invest resources into as an LP/co-investor, involves due diligence as part of the founding investment team, where you will be instrumental in continuing to shape the product & business strategy, from back-end dev-ops through to AI enhancements. You will take ownership of the tech strategy from the investor's perspective, and manage day-to-day engineering execution alongside the CTO of each startup.

Looking ahead, you will be pivotal in supporting the strategic and technical capabilities of the product for growth.

Responsibilities:

Leading hands-on product development, testing and delivery of the agreed tech roadmap in coordination with founders, and advising & adapting to the changing needs of each portfolio business Spearheading the tech team (which will remain your own business, and operating only as co-investor on chosen startups) Taking ownership of each platform development for the benefit of each startup, offering critical informed advice on tech architecture and strategy Working with the rest of the team to prioritise each roadmap and deliver commercialised outcomes Ensuring the systems architecture and infrastructure is scalable and can support growth Feeding into product strategy and commercial goals to identify opportunities to quickly deliver customer value Ensuring that the product continues to use best practices, utilising advances in AI / machine learning where relevant, and generally future-proofing the business for success
What you'll bring:

Demonstrated experience of your team/business in developing & delivering full tech-stack products (possibly including ML/AI and multiple languages) for commercial applications for sectors ranging from Fintech to Agtech and more Knowledge of the latest practices and trends, and low-cost, scalable architecture Demonstrated ability to deliver product in a tech startup environment and with speed Confidence to manage a tech team to create, develop, iterate Experience of working within an agile environment Experience with API Integrations to pull data from multiple sources Knowledge of the challenges involved in developing complex products Experience building full stack application (for example HTML, CSS, React, Node js, Python and Rest APIs)
