The role and responsibilities
Are you passionate about software development using modern patterns, technologies and principles? Do you want to technically lead an exciting transformational project? Do you have excellent hands-on .Net, C# and Azure development skills? Are you experienced in applying robust architecture principles such as Microservices, Domain Driven Design (DDD) and Eventing/Messaging and can coach and mentor others in these skills? Do you want to work in an environment which encourages team collaboration and learning? TPR is a cloud-first organisation, and we are searching for the right person to technical lead across development teams to delivery key strategic initiatives whilst retaining hands on development skills.
This is a very hands-on technical role, and we are looking for a person with a strong track record in building enterprise web-based solutions, preferably with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies. The role criteria
Significant experience using Microsoft development technologies including .Net, C#
Broad knowledge of modern architecture patterns and knowing when/how to apply them,
including Domain Driven Design, Microservices, Event based messaging systems and CQRS
Excellent knowledge of development methodologies and how to apply them, Agile and Dev
Ops principles and values in particular
Extensive experience of development with Microsoft Azure SaaS, PaaS plus IaaS
Detailed understanding and experience of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript,
Typescript and at least 1 web library/framework e.g. React.js, Angular or Blazor/Web Assembly
Thorough understanding of OOD, SOLID principles and GoF Design Patterns
Excellent understanding of relational databases and SQL Server in particular
Experience building restful APIs
The team
Our Digital, Data and Technology department is driving transformation at TPR to deliver positive outcome for savers across the UK. We're building a series of value stream-aligned Service Teams and supporting Platform Teams to deliver external and internal services. These Teams will work in a User Centred, Agile way to deliver better services, that are put into the hands of our users as soon as possible, while securing the sensitive data and maintaining stable services; this will be done by long-lived, happy teams.
After some great and exciting successes experimenting with long-lived, value aligned teams; we're now broadening the approach to cover more of the services (internal and external) provided by TPR to protect Savers.
This is an excellent opportunity to work for an evolving regulator, help shape how we protect savers and deliver value at TPR for our users (both internal and external) and play an important part in UK society.
