Tech Lead Software

Remote, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Tech Lead for our well-funded e-commerce fulfilment startup

At Bezos, our vision is to Deliver Happiness: for our team, for the end consumers, for the e-commerce sellers, and for our logistics partners.

Exciting times in e-commerce: E-commerce sales are driven by consumers who increasingly buy more online and the emergence of small and medium (SME) online sellers who sell through multiple channels (Shopify, Amazon, eBay, Instagram). Today, these SME online sellers are falling behind large retailers due to the complexity of logistics and are ignored by large incumbent logistics service providers. We are on a mission to change that.

Building a next-generation fulfilment-as-a-service platform: Bezos.ai develops a cloud-based platform that empowers small and medium-sized online sellers to compete with large retailers. By connecting with existing fulfilment and logistics providers (in the UK, Europe, and the US), we offer fast, reliable solutions that simplify operations and lower costs. With Bezos.ai, SMEs can efficiently scale their businesses both locally and globally--a smarter approach to logistics.

###

The Role

We're looking for a Technical Lead to drive the architecture, team growth, and delivery of our core platform.

You'll be our engineering leader and an integral part of the senior leadership team, shaping the company's technical roadmap while setting the engineering culture.

This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role in a fast-moving startup. You'll balance writing code, mentoring engineers, shaping technical decisions, and aligning engineering with company strategy.

###

Responsibilities:

Own the technical roadmap: Define and deliver on engineering priorities that support product and business goals. Lead and scale the engineering team: Mentor our existing engineers and help hire and onboard new team members. Design scalable systems: Architect secure, modular microservices and APIs in a serverless cloud environment. Enable team performance: Improve dev workflows, testing, deployment, observability, and incident response. Build with AI: Explore and deploy AI-powered tools to enhance team efficiency and product capabilities. Collaborate cross-functionally: Bridge strategy and execution between engineering, product, and operations. Stay hands-on: Lead by example in writing production code and technical decision-making.
###

Requirements:

10+ years of software development experience, ideally 2+ years in a startup environment. Strong backend fundamentals and experience with Go, AWS, PostgreSQL, microservices, and serverless infrastructure. Previous experience in e-commerce, logistics, or related platform/product development is a big plus. A pragmatic builder who can turn complex systems into simple, scalable architecture. Experience growing or managing teams: mentorship, hiring, team culture. Product-oriented mindset: you care about solving real user problems, not just writing code. A strong communicator who can translate technical concepts into business and product conversations. Curious about emerging tech, especially AI/ML tools that improve team productivity or platform features. * Good vibes, collaborative, and great to work with--good vibes matter to us.
