Who are we?




First Marine Solutions (FMS) are a service provider to the local and international renewables and oil & gas sectors specialising in the engineering, design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of mooring systems for floating assets. FMS also specialise in the planning and undertaking of marine activities related to floating assets such as towage, vessel loadouts, marine assurance, and assisting with location planning and consent.

The Role?




We have an opportunity for a Technical Administrator to join our team based in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen on a full time, permanent basis to assist our Marine and Engineering Consultancy with project administration and delivery as well as management of internal project systems.


This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, clarity and consistency of our technical documentation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing technical documents, with exceptional skills in proofreading, editing and publishing to a professional standard.


Duties & Responsibilities?




This list does not represent an exhaustive list but indicates the main responsibilities the post holder will be required to undertake:


Working with the Marine Manager and Senior Technical Administrator to ensure smooth running of the Consultancys processes and record keeping. Assist in the development of large tender packs and tracking of delegated responsibilities. Formatting, proofreading, and processing of proposals, procedures, and reports in accordance with company standards; ensuring consistency in quality and format across the full range of documentation issued to internal external stakeholders. Administration of document control processes and project delivery, ensuring all documents are accurately version-controlled, published and archived appropriately. Maintaining various admin and document registers as necessary. Creating and managing document templates as required. Liaising with internal staff, contractors, and existing and prospective clients and suppliers. Assisting with office facilities as required. Assist with any other duties as and when required. Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires. Carry out work in accordance with First Marine Solutions operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements.

Your Qualifications & Experience?




Essential


Significant experience in technical administration, document control, or a similar role. Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of written English. High level of competence with MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Experience using Microsoft SharePoint systems.

Preferred


Degree level of education or Higher-Level education and/or extensive experience. Advanced proofreading and editing skills, with a focus on technical content.
