We are seeking a detail-orientated and organised Technical Administrator to support our operations team in key technical and compliance-related administrative functions. The role will focus on shipping, safety data sheet (SDS) management, export compliance, and operational documentation, ensuring smooth and efficient processes in line with regulatory and company standards.

Some prior experience in a similar role is required and full training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity to grow into the role, develop your expertise, and become the company expert!

Key Responsibilities



Shipping & Logistics



Coordinate domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with transport regulations. Prepare shipping documentation, including customs forms, commercial invoices, and hazardous materials declarations (where applicable). Liaise with freight forwarders, couriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Management Maintain and update the company's SDS database, ensuring all documents are current and accessible. Work with regulatory teams to ensure SDS compliance with REACH, CLP, and other global chemical regulations. Distribute SDS to customers and internal stakeholders as required.

Export Compliance



Assist in ensuring compliance with UK and international export control regulations (e.g., EAR, ITAR, dual-use goods). Support the completion of export license applications and documentation checks. Maintain records for audit purposes.

Operational & Technical Administration



Support the operations team with general administrative tasks as needed - we are a fast moving, small business so flexibility is essential. Manage incoming vendor Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and ensure proper documentation storage. Maintain equipment and maintenance logs, tracking servicing schedules and calibration records. Assist with technical procurement, including raising purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and liaising with suppliers for chemical and lab-related materials.

Skills & Qualifications



Essential:



Minimum qualification: good A Levels in technical subjects (ideally Chemistry) Some previous experience (1-2 years) in a technical, logistics, or compliance-focused administrative role (ideally within chemical, manufacturing or technical industry) Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and document management systems. Ideally some understanding of export compliance and shipping documentation. Full right to work unrestricted for the foreseeable future in the UK (not student / graduate visa) as no sponsorship will be provided.

Desirable:



Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems. Knowledge of chemical safety regulations (SDS, GHS, COSHH). Familiarity with procurement processes in a technical environment.
